Foot care – we solve your problems and your pain
We give you important advice on how to prevent corns and nail fungus.
With our professional work, we conjure up beautiful, durable paintwork and inspire you.
One of our oldest clients is 96 years old. A beautiful, well-groomed lady who admonishes us at each of her visits „You must tell young people early enough that a pedicure is one of the most important measures to have healthy, beautiful feet even in old age. This way you stay mobile until 100”. And many a woman in her forties would envy this lady for her immaculate, but above all pain-free feet.
In fact our feet carry us all our lives and if men and women are good to them, they will do it gladly and without pain.
Frequently asked questions:
I've had my corn cut out so many times - it always comes back. Why?
A corn is a thickening of the skin that tells us “the shoe pinches”, so it is a protective measure of our body. Most of the time, it’s the comfortable, worn-out shoes that cause these pressure points and we find it hard to dispose of this culprit.
Find out which shoe pinches – and then get rid of it. Shoes, especially closed shoes and especially work shoes, should never be worn for more than 1 day. Continuous moisture in shoes worn every day weakens your skin, which is how these painful pressure points develop. You should not cut around etc. If the painstakingly built-up protective measure is removed and you then put your entire body weight on the now unprotected area, your body will take even more drastic action – in the worst case, it can lead to very, very painful leg inflammation.
1. Put away the pressing shoes
2. Change shoes daily
3. Do not cut around etc.
Come to us, we look at your pressure points, together we solve your problem. Give your body a little time, the damage did not occur overnight either.
I have toenails that are loose and yellowish at the front, do I have nail fungus?
Only a dermatologist can detect a nail fungus by preparing and analysing appropriate cultures. However, there are 2 reliable indications that point to a fungus:
1. All nails are affected because fungus is highly contagious.
2. The natural nail “crumbles”, starting from the tip of the nail.
In over 20 years of studio practice, the vast majority of natural nails were “only” loosened because they were bumped too long in sports shoes or work shoes. The body’s own fats, in combination with dirt and dead skin flakes, make the loosened areas appear yellowish. Come to us, we look at your natural nails, together we solve your problem. Give your body a little time and always wear your natural nails nice and short.
Is a varnish or gel varnish coating harmful to the toenails?
No. The natural nail is already formed in the nail bed. Natural nails consist of flattened, dead horn cells, unlike skin respiration, hair and nails do NOT exchange. You can wear beautifully painted toenails all year round.
Over 25 years of experience and our own Pulchris gels give us absolute confidence.
How long does Shellac, in our case Pulchris Gel Polish, last on toenails?
Unlike fingernails, toenails are exposed to significantly less stress. Toenails also grow more slowly than fingernails, so durability is not limited. We recommend that you trim your toenails with a sandblade file after 3 weeks. This is quick and ensures that you do not bump into the shoe unnecessarily.
How often should I have a pedicure?
If you suffer from pain, come and see us. Otherwise, we recommend foot care every 6-8 weeks.
I have painful cracks and chapping on my heels even though I remove my calluses with a pumice stone every week. What causes this?
Less is more. The more you scrub, scrape and remove your calluses, the faster and stronger your body will try to rebuild the lost protection. Leave the removal of calluses to a professional.
I would like a medical foot care, do you do that?
The “title” medical foot care does not exist – it is forbidden to advertise in this way. The profession of chiropodist is an apprenticeship profession that requires a corresponding “master’s examination” for self-employment. Anything else is illegal. So there is only one foot care or NONE.
